Esther

Esther was a beautiful young woman who became the queen of Persia. Nobody knew she was Jewish. Her cousin Mordecai had raised her and taught her to love God.

A wicked man named Haman made a plan to hurt all the Jewish people. Mordecai told Esther she had to speak to the king to save her people. But going to the king without being invited could mean death! Mordecai said, "Maybe God made you queen for such a time as this."

Esther was very brave. She asked her people to pray and fast for three days. Then she went to the king. The king listened to Esther, and all her people were saved! Esther teaches us to be brave, to stand up for what is right, and that God puts us in the right place at the right time.
