Jonah

God told Jonah to go to the big city of Nineveh and tell the people to stop being mean and turn back to God. But Jonah did not want to go! He ran away and got on a boat going the opposite direction.

God sent a huge storm! The sailors were scared, and Jonah told them to throw him into the sea. When they did, God sent a big fish to swallow Jonah! Jonah was inside the fish for three days and three nights. He prayed and asked God to forgive him.

The fish spit Jonah out onto dry land. This time, Jonah obeyed God and went to Nineveh. The people listened and turned back to God! Jonah teaches us that we cannot run from God, and that God gives second chances.
